After a sold-out run of ROY – A Tribute To Roy Orbison at metropolitan centres in 2016, revered singer-songwriter Damien Leith is gearing up to revisit the music of his idol in 2017 for a special The Hall of Fame Tour. Taking the show to regional Australia, the tour is an opportunity for Damien to perform in towns he hasn’t played in for years if at all. When the ROY show toured the capital cities earlier in the year, it was always his plan to take it on the road to country Australia. ‘I’m a country boy at heart, originating from a small village in Ireland called Milltown, so regional tours are special to me’ he says. ‘Touring in regional areas around Australia is an amazing experience. I always meet great salt of the earth people and the whole vibe and atmosphere in a show is electric. Audiences really appreciate you being there and there is always a great sense of community.’ The tour commemorates 30 years since Roy Orbison was inducted into the Rock n Roll and Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. Damien says he will be performing songs such as In Dreams, Crying, Running Scared, Oh Pretty Woman and Blue Angel, to name a few. The show is jam-packed with as many Roy songs that can be fitted into the set list.
